Ask The Experts: What Is Considered A "Biohazard" in Indianapolis?

When people find out that SERVPRO does cleanup of biohazards, many people's brains go straight to the CSI crime scene kind of cleaning, which, to be fair, is PART of what we can help with, but is certainly not all of what we do when it comes to our biohazard services. 

Biohazards range from microorganisms such as bacteria and microbes to chemicals and other toxic substances that may pose health hazards. Whenever solid waste or contaminated water saturate building materials or contents, biohazard cleanups and restoration treatments are necessary for health and safety.

So What All Is Considered A Biohazard?

As discussed above, crime scene cleanup of what we do, but does not cover everything or even come close for that matter. Here are several more areas that our biohazard team can assist with.
